Four men sentenced for drugs offences and money laundering as part of Operation Catch

Four men from Luton have been sentenced after pleading guilty to offences relating to production and possession of drugs and money laundering offences including money laundering offences.

The men were all arrested as part of Operation Catch – an investigation by the Eastern Region Specialist Operation Unit (ERSOU).

Danny Akhtar, 30, of Hickling Close, Hitchin, pleaded guilty to:

Being concerned in the supply of a class A drug, namely, cocaine.

Being concerned in the production of a controlled drug, namely cannabis.

Money laundering, acquiring criminal property, namely £90,300.

Four counts of mortgage fraud, totalling £432,700.00.

He was sentenced to ten and a half years incustody.

Jason Houston - Luck, 30, of Maulden Close, Stopsley, Luton was sentenced to four years after pleading guilty to being concerned in the supply of a class a drug, namely Cocaine.

Andre Samson, 30, of Whitecroft Rd, Luton, pleaded guilty to:

Two counts of mortgage fraud, and money laundering -acquiring criminal property, namely £15,675.

He was sentenced to twelve months in custody - suspended for 2yrs, and ordered to complete two hundred and fifty hours of community service.

Darren West, 27, of Charles Street, Luton pleaded guilty to being concerned in the production of a controlled drug, namely cannabis

He received, a ten month custodial sentence, suspended for two years, and was ordered to complete two hundred hours of community service.
