Further people charged in relation to Kent human trafficking investigation

A further two people have been charged in connection with a human trafficking investigation being carried out by the Eastern Region Special Operations Unit (ERSOU) in Kent.

Hoa Thi Nguyen, 49, of Bisterne Avenue, Walthamstow, was charged on Thursday (30 August) with conspiracy to facilitating the illegal entry of foreign nationals into the UK, possession of criminal property, and assaulting a police constable. Nguyen was arrested after ERSOU officers executed two warrants in London on Thursday (30 August). A further two people were arrested during the warrants and have been released under investigation. Wayne Lee, 46, of Grasmere Close, Watford, was charged on Friday (31 August) with conspiracy to facilitate the illegal entry of foreign nationals into the UK. He had initially been arrested on 3 August, along with a number of other people, after ERSOU and Border Force officials intervened a speed boat in Walmer, Kent on Friday 3 August. Three other men - Nazmi Velia, 31, of Park Street Lane, St Albans, Egert Kajici, 34, of Turner Drive, Oxford, and Thomas Mason, 35, of High Street, Eyeworth, were all charged on 4 August with conspiracy to facilitate a breach of UK Immigration Law and remain in custody pending further court appearances.
